R. lecture card dated 1869 and other assorted items. Stamped letter from James Higgs, Company D, 61st Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, 6 Corps, Washington, DC. Addressed to George W. Price, New Brunswick, NJ. Dated July 6, 1864. “This little Testament was picked up on the Battle field in the Wilderness……” “….on opening it I found a request that if found it should be sent to you.” “Please let me know whether your brother is safe or not.” The letter is pretty much intact, but repaired with tape.
