ARAB-BYZANTINE: Standing Emperor, ca. 680-700+, AE fals (2.99g), "pseudo-Damascus ", A-3522.1, Milstein—, tall bird left, pine tree (?) right of standing figure / cursive m, cross above, river below (2 pellets above and 3 below), serpentine left, palm leaf right, VF, RR. It has been suggested that the "river " type may have been produced at Deraa (Dar'at) in Syria, through which the Yarmouk River flows. Deraa was an active mint for post-reform Umayyad and Abbasid copper coins, many of which also bear the river symbol.
