1869: Unpaid entire letter to Bucharest struck with superb "PLOESTI" circular datestamp (Oct 20) in blue (Kiriac fig. 427) and handstruck "28" bani due marking (18 bani postage + 10 bani due as tax) also in blue. Reverse with "Bucuresti / Dim" arrival cds (Oct 21) in black. A very fine and rare cover, this procedure with a special handstamp is only recorded from Ploesti. Illustrated in "Stampilografie Postala" by Kiriac Dragomir on page 291...

1858 (July 21/Aug 2g): 54 parale black on green horizontally laid paper, a used example with large margins on three sides and ample margin at top, of lovely rich colour, cancelled by near complete "JASSY / MOLDOVA" cds in red (23/9). Illustrated in Heimbüchler "The Bull's Heads of Moldavia" on page 341, position 2. An attractive example of a very scarce stamp. Signed Christine Hassel. Cert. 1858: Bull's Heads 108 parale blue on rose horizontally laid paper, a superb and fresh example in a deep shade with even large margins (minute thins at top, mostly marginal), tied by a clear strike of "JASSY / MOLDOVA" datestamp (18/8) datestamp in blue (Kiriac fig. 279), contrasting well with the blue design, an additional light strike alongside. A desirable example of this rare adhesive, certs. Gmach (2024), Cherata (2024) Mi = € 16'000....

1864ca: Two covers - one a single 30 p. franking to 'Focsani', bright blue stamp from tied by a black "BRAILA" cancel and a blue sender's cancel, which is applied to protect the stamp, with a blue c.d.s. "BRAILA" alongside. The second item is a small registered envelope from "GIURGIU" to 'Bucharest', featuring two 30 p. stamps, which have almost octagonal cut but complete margins, addressed to Bucharest. The seals have been cut on the reverse...

1872: 25 b. orange, horizontal pair, 50 b. rose, and 1876 10 b. blue, vertical pair, used on a registered cover from Ploiești, Romania, to Ravenna, Italy, dated 13 December 1878. The stamps are tied by a circular datestamp in blue, addressed to 'Countess Constance Rasponi'. It features manuscript registration and a handstamp 'RECOM' in blue alongside. Upon arrival in Ravenna, the cover was redirected to Bucharest, Romania. The reverse shows...

1862/1925c.: Range of used stamps loose and on piece with some multiples, all collected for cancellation interest (211 items), with many in blue or in red, with thimble types, Postman's Posthorn numeral handstamps, AR and registration markings, TPO datestamps, Railway Station datestamps etc.

1854/1944: Stockbook with a balance collection (59 items) incl. 1854 cover with two line dated "BUKAREST / 15 SEP" handstamp well struck, 1860 covers (2) from Paris to Craiova with "F/27" accountancy marking, 1861 entire letter with two line dated BRAILA /IUL 14 datestamp in blue to Ploesci, 1865 Cuza 20 pa. red on entire letter ex Calafatul and single example with mss. cancel; 1865 DDSG form with oval "DDSG / SALDIRT / GR. BECSKEREK" in blue...

1867/1990c.: Covers/cards (300 circa) with range of covers with 'perfin' usages from Banque Credit Roumain, Banca Commerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Marmorosch, Banque Nationale de Roumanie, Uzinele de Fier Si Domenile; 1919 cover from Sulina cancelled "Postes Navale / 1" from French Navy, Bessarabia and other censored WWII usages, WWII correspondence to German occupied Paris, 1947 Inflation period reg'd cover to Brazil with 51 stamps at 169'800...

1890/1980ca: Enormous hoard of thousands of postal stationery postcards & envelopes, primarily post-WWII material but including also King Carol II postcards, King Michael postcards sent during the war primarily to Germany with Romanian and German censorship, Besarabia stationery with Iasi censorship, later communist Arms postcards in multitude, in a large box.

1994/2007: The 3 volumes of Fritz Heimbüchler's handbooks 'Romania, The Bull's Heads of Moldavia' 1852-1962', 'Prinicipality of Wallachia 1820-1962, United Principalities 1862-72' and the supplement from 2007 with new Bull's Head discoveries. Excellent condition with only very minor wear.

1889/92: Definitive issue with thunderbolts, 1 kop. orange - 35 kop. green & greyish purple on horizontally laid paper, the part set of seven values in unused blocks of four, fresh colours and very fine, large part or unmounted og. Scott 46/52 = $ 450 / Mi = € 200+.

1914 (Nov. 9): Registered letter from Vladivostok to Kobe, bearing 1908 20 kop. ultramarine & red-carmine, tied by light strike of oval "VLADIVOST. - TSURUGA / PAROKHOD" Shipmail datestamp of the Russian Volunteer Fleet, an information strike and a matching registration label in Cyrillic alongside, reverse with "KOBE JAPAN" arrival (Nov. 14) cds. Some wrinkles and minor staining on the reverse, nevertheless a desirable registered shipmail...
