The collector J.G.J (1912-1997) lived in Munich, where he worked as a businessman. Pursuant to the wishes of his parents, he took over the family business and successfully managed the company. His true love for art and art history was his passion in life which he pursued with great fervor. He lived out his passion by collecting a wide range of rare art and also restoring them himself.

His enthusiasm for numismatics originated in his profound interest in history and the interconnectivity as well as a belief in art as a viable and secure investment. The construction of his coin collection can be attributed in large part to the advisory function of numismatic professional Gerhard Hirsch and afterwards by Gerhard Hirsch Nachfolger. Some of these coins stem out of prominent old pre-war collections or are cited in standard works.

Gerhard Hirsch Nachfolger is honored to be able to present this meaningful collection of first class rarities in Auction 313.
