Auction #11

Welcome to another large & great Phoenix auction. It will be a busy day with over 2,000 lots to auction. With only 1908 lots this auction is marginally smaller than our last few auctions and it is still packed with our normal full range of items from small single lots to multi-thousand dollar gems suitable for even the most advanced collector. Our Rest of World sections are always popular and the selection in this auction will be no exception. The high-end British items are particularly impressive, highlighted by our front cover item, a magnificent "Cambridge" blue Seahorse. An even scarcer stamp is the mint 10/- Cobalt shown on the back cover. Both of these lots have certificates. The Australian Colonies includes many fine stamps as well as the next selection of Ken Smithies' Victorian Postmarks. This section was very strong in auction 10 achieving several outstanding results and the items in auction 11 will be equally popular. The Australian Commonwealth has another superb selection with everything from monograms and imprints to a wide range of varieties including quite a few plated bi-colour Roos. The Kangaroo specimens are very popular at the moment and we pleased to offer another useful group. As always there is a terrific range of covers with some very fine stamp usage lots, rare postal rates and desirable First Day Covers and Commemorative covers.
