Semi Centennial Celebration of the American Occupation of California, Monterey, Cal. July 4 to 7, 1896. Multicolored illustrated design showing Bear with Flags on cover to Allegheny City Pa. bearing with 2¢ bureau issue, nat. s.e. at bottom, canceled by "Monterey, Cal. Apr 7, 1896" duplex, Allegheny Pa. Apr. 12th receiving backstamp; reduced slightly at right, Very Fine and scarce.

Stockton, Sept. 9, 1896, Admission Day Celebration. Multicolored illustrated design showing Grizzly Bear on cover to Stockton, Cal. bearing 1895 2¢ pink cancelled and indistinct postmark alongside, Very Fine.

Adams & Co. Express, Marysville. Choice strike of blue oval handstamp (ADA-102) and matching "Paid" handstamp on 1853 folded cover to Vallejo, Cal., docketed "Recd Jany 13th/53" on flap; light central fold, Extremely Fine and choice, One of only five recorded examples of this handstamp, with one residing in the Wiltsee collection.

Adams & Co., Sacramento, May 30. Clear strike of double circle date stamp in red (ADA-100) on 1853 folded letter to San Francisco; file fold, Very Fine, the only recorded example of this circular Adams Sacramento handstamp in red.

Adams & Co., Sacramento, Sep 16. Blue double cds on fresh yellow envelope to Stockton, Cal., with additional red "Paid" handstamp, Very Fine, a rare and attractive handstamp combination.

Adams & Co., Stockton, Jul 7. Blue double circle date stamp (ADA-100) on cover to San Francisco, partial matching "Paid" on octagon handstamp at left, Very Fine, only six examples of this date stamp are recorded.

Bamber & Co.'s Express. 3 covers; 1853, 3¢ Nesbitt entire with oval handstamp frank and boxed "Answered By" directive handstamp, to S.F., 1864, 3¢ pink entire with scroll frank, Mission San Jose merchant corner card and Bamber & W.F. & Co. handstamps, and 1860, 3¢ pink part paste-up with Bamber's "Bacon & Hardy" frank and San Francisco handstamp, Very Fine.
