In Stamford, Connecticut, geboren, diente er der Stadt von 1895 bis 1897 als zweiter Bürgermeister. Born in Stamford, Connecticut, he was serving the town as second mayor from 1895 to 1897. Further he was a director on the boards of Stamford Hospital, the Stamford YMCA and the First National Bank of Stamford.
