Pre-Long Beach Auction #84

1793 S-6 R3 Wreath Cent Basal State-1. Variety with a Vine & Bars Edge. Mostly smooth and glossy chocolate and steel brown, but this piece is heavily worn and it has a large "X" deeply scratched into the obverse. The portrait and leaves below are clear but the majority of LIBERTY is worn away and the date is gone. Most of UNITED STATES is readable but the remainder of the reverse is faint or worn smooth. A beveled planchet clip shows at K-5 on the reverse. Not pretty but it is a Wreath Cent.
