Great Britain. Oval Countermark Dollar, ND (1797) NGC AU55. S.3765A; ESC-129; KM-634. George III oval countermark on 1795 Mexico City mint Charles IV 8 Reales. Both hos coin and counterstamp are nearly uncirculated. With just a whisper of light toning, this coin radiates original mint luster. A find example of this 'emergency issue' crown. NGC graded AU-55.
