A Letter by a Jew of Warsaw, the Eve of the Holocaust – "The World has been Given to Evil People"
A touching letter that was sent from Warsaw in 1939. On a postcard.

The writer tells his nephew (Reb Yehuda Newman of London): "I do not work as a teacher anymore since I am old and tired … and the troubles of the public make one become near-sighted".

Later in the letter the writer refers to the Nazis and writes: "The world has been given to evil and stupid people! The cruel German vampire's purpose is to eradicate Yisrael Saba and for the last five years has been spilling the blood of Israel like water, nevertheless, an agreement was signed with him, trusting his promise, and only now they see he cannot be trusted! Only now! And the blood of Israel that is being spilled is nothing to them…"

He prays: "May we, the Master of the Universe, get rid shortly of the subjugation of the exiles under such masters…" and signs: "Moshe ben Esther".

מכתב מאת יהודי בוורשה, ערב השואה – "נמסר העולם בידי הרשעים"
מכתב מרגש שנשלח מהעיר וורשה בשנת תרצ"ט 1939. על גבי גלויה.

הכותב מספר לאחיינו (ר' יהודה ניומן מלונדון): "אני איני עוסק כבר בהוראה כי הנני כבר ישיש ותשוש... וגם צרות הכלל מכהין את העיניים".

בהמשך מתייחס הכותב לשלטון הנאצי, וכותב: "אמסר עלמא בידא דטפשאי ורשיעאי! האכזר הוואמפיר הגרמני שם לו למטרה להכחיד ישראל סבא, זה חמש שנים שהוא שופך דם ישראל כמים, ובכל זאת עשו עמו חוזה, סמכו על הבטחתו, רק עכשיו הם רואים שאיננו בר מהימן! רק עכשיו! ושפיכם דם ישראל זה לא כלום להם...".

ומתפלל: "הלוואי, ריבונו של עולם, שנפטר במהרה משעבוד גלויות זו תחת אדונים כאלה...". חותם: "משה בן אסתר".
