GREAT MONGOLS: Chingiz Khan, 1206-1227, AE broad khani dirham (6.44g), Samarqand, AH62x, A-1968E, Zeno-107882 (this piece), inscribed khani / chingiz khan / al-'adil / al-a'zam, fully clear on this piece, bent across the center, otherwise very attractive, unique, VF, RRRR. According to the eminent scholar Pavel Petrov, "This is a unique coin (new type) with name (title) of Chingiz Khan. The mint name is not clear, but probably is read as bi samar[qand]. The type doesn't fit to known coins of 618-619; I'd suggest that this coin was struck in 621-622. "
