KAKWAYHID: 'Ala al-Dawla Muhammad, 1008-1041, AR dirham (3.21g), Isbahan, AH406, A-1591A, citing the Abbasid caliph only (al-Qadir), without the name of 'Ala al-Dawla Muhammad, Qur'an Sura 112 in reverse field, lovely bold strike, ex-mount, EF, RR. This type can also be classified as purely Abbasid. Kakwayhid coinage began during this year, at the mint of Isbahan, starting with a few rare examples citing only the caliph (this type), then with much more available issues citing the name muhammad beneath the Qur'an Sura in the reverse field.
