Moskowitz, Ira "Torah II Series" (1912-2001) Painter and master print maker. Moskowitz devoted much of his life to the production of Judaic art.
A suite of thirteen Original Handcolored Etchings illustrating Torah; pulled at Bank Street Atelier, New York City, by Emiliano Sorini; text printed by Fequet et Baudier, Typography and Design, by Aline Elmayan, Paris, France; all signed on lower right border, in pencil; all numbered: 28/120 lower left border, in pencil; on white Arches paper; image:15 x 17½", with border: 29 x 20½"; August 1970; all thirteen contained in a cloth covered presentation box.
Etchings include: "Sounding the Shofar," " Zot ha Torah," "Sabbath of Genesis," "Sanctification of the Sabbath," "The Belze Rebbe," "Baroque Synagogue," Man at Prayer," "The Lulav," "Meditation, Bukharian Synagogue," "Prayer and Meditation," "Talmud Torah," "Discussing the Talmud I," and "Discussing the Talmud II." This is an exceptional presentation, as most of the Moskowitz etching series are seldom found intact. Excellent condition. Estimated Value $4,000 - 5,000
