Pre-Long Beach Auction #84

1848 N-3 R2 Repunched Date EF45. Five points sharper but there is a dull nick between stars 10 & 11 and a few tiny ticks off the tip of the chin. Otherwise this cent is choice and offers excellent eye appeal. Frosty light steel brown with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. LDS, die state c. Repunching is still visible on all 4 digits of the date but the fine die lines of the early state are gone. Removed from a PCGS slab graded AU58 (PCGS label #1883.58/21077646 included).
