ΛΕΣΒΟΣ – ΘΑΣΟΣ / LESVOS – THASOS. Rare combination of three (3) countermarks from both Lesvos & Thasos on obverse of 40 pa ottoman coin (1277). Including the following countermarks all in obverse. “ΤΞΚ” [Τ(α)Ξ(ιάρ)Χ(ης) Archangel from Mantamados – Lesvos (Μανταμάδος Λέσβου). Nice full struck (Wilski G 19-05)], “ΣΧ / ΑΓ / 81” [Σ(καλο)Χ(ώριον) / Α(γιος) Γ(εώργιος) / 81, from Skalohori, Saint George 1881 (Σκαλοχώρι Λέσβου). Only lower part visible “ΑΓ / 81” (Wilski G 18-13)] & “ΚΑΑ / 1884” [K(αζαβήτη) Ά(γιοι) Α(πόστολοι) 1884, from Megalo Kazaviti, Prinos, Thasos (Μεγάλο Καζαβίτι, Πρίνος, Θάσος). Not clearly struck (Wilski G 10-12b)]. Very Fine.
