Pair of Rare Silver Torah Finials – France/Colonies of North Africa – the Middle of the 19th Century
A pair of Torah finials. Made of silver, marked, silver 800, French stamps of the middle of the 19th century. (Marked in many places: stamp of "crab" for small silverware and stamp of a Jewish manufacturer. A star-of-David in the stamp of the manufacturer).

It is possible that the finials were made in one of the French colonies of North Africa, such as Morocco/Tunisia, which had the same French stamping rules of silver/gold.

Hammered, sawed and engraved silver.

Shaped as a five-sided tower. On the upper part, bells with chains (some of which are missing).

Bearing an engraved Hebrew inscription:

On one finial: "Oman …Eliyahu Edre'I and Seraya Giyen …"

On the other finial there is a worn dedication which is almost completely undecipherable except for "Kodesh La'Hashem" on one of the sides.

Height: 33cm. Weight: approximately 585gr.

Condition: Good. Old repairs and signs of use.

זוג רימוני ספר תורה. עשויים כסף, חתומים, כסף 800, חותמות צרפת של אמצע מאה 19. (חתומים במקומות רבים: חותמת "סרטן" לכלי כסף קטנים וחותמת יצרן יהודי. סמל מגן דוד בתוך חותמת היצרן)

*ייתכן שהרימונים יוצרו באחת הקולוניות של צרפת בצפון אפריקה כגון: מרוקו / תוניס שהיו חלים עליהן כללי החתמה של כסף/זהב של צרפת באותה התקופה.

כסף מנוסר, רקוע וחרוט.

עשויים בצורת צריח בעל 5 צלעות, בחלק העליון פעמונים עם שרשראות (חלקם חסרים)

נושאים הקדשה חרוטה.

על רימון אחד: "אומאן ע"ח, אליאהו אדרעי,וסעריא גייאן, שינאת תוע"ד, מעאסי אירי.

על רימון שני הקדשה שחוקה ולא ניתנת לפיענוח למעט "קדש ל"ה" על אחת הצלעות.

משקל: כ585 גרם.
