(Yvert = € 400) together with the set of thirteen values on 1895 registered cover to Melbourne, Victoria cancelled by "Papeete / Taiti" but cover slightly toned and 2 c. with corner fault; and 1899 cover to Geneva at 25 c. rate franked by 1 c. black (2), 2 c. lilac-brown on yellowish (2), 4 c. lilac on greyish, 5 c. green and 10 c. black...

Syrie 1921: "POSTE PAR AVION" in violet on France OMF 1 pi. on Sower 5 c. green pair, 5 pi. on grey-green and 10 pi. on Merson 40 c. pale blue & rose (these last two stamps sheet marginal), used on 1921 cover to Aleppo, tied by "Alexandrette" cds's (Feb 18) in black with Aleppo arrival (same day) on reverse. A rare issue on letter: just 1'500 sets genuinely surcharged. Signed Docquet, Roumet.

1896/1900: ½ a. on 5 c. green, 1 a. on 10 c. black on lilac, 1½ a. on 15 c. blue, 2 a. on 20 c. brick on green and 2½ a. on 25 c. black on rose, used on 1899 registered cover to Reims tied by "ZANZIBAR" cds's (Jan 9) in black. "LA REUNION A MARSEILLE" octagonal datestamp below and Reims arrival (Feb 2) on reverse.

1896/1900: 1½ a. on 15 c. blue (two examples), 2 a. on 20 c. brick on green and 2½ a. on 25 c. black on rose, used on 1897 registered cover to the Assistant Postmaster in Dresden tied by "ZANZIBAR" cds's (Dec 23) in black. Octagonal "LA REUNION A MARSEILLE 1° / LU No. 2" Maritime datestamp well struck below (Dec 27) in black. Dresden arrival cds (16 Jan 1898) on reverse of an attractive cover.

1885: 1 c. olive and 2 c. lilac on pale lilac both in horizontal strips of five, 5 c. blue (2) and 10 c. red-brown on yellowish all used on 15 c. rose postal stationery envelope, paying the 50 c. registered rate to Bern, Switzerland tied by manuscript pen strokes and five strikes of the "MONACO / PRINCIPAUTE" circular datestamp (13 July 1887) in black. Framed "R" in red and reverse with Marseille transit, "Pontarlier-Neuchatel" TPO and Bern...

1885: 1 fr. black on yellow, a single example used on 1891 registered cover endorsed "Chargée Valeur Cinq Cent Francs" with "Le Grand Hotel" illustration at left, tied by "MONTE-CARLO / DE MONACO" circular datestamp (March 5) in black with information strike at left and "CHARGÉ" alongside. Reverse with Rate box and Cannes arrival cds (March 6). Two wax seals removed but a rare commercial usage Mi = € 4'200 / Maury = € 5'000.

1861 (Oct): Paris Printing 1 l. chocolate-brown, a used example with good margins all round, used on 1861 Newspaper tied by "15" dotted numeral with corresponding NAPHLION cds below (Nov 24) in black. Slight stain at right away from the fine adhesive, an unusual usage.

Romagna 1859: ½ baj. black on dull yellow, a used example with large even margins all round, tied to page of 1 April 1860 "Supplimento al N. 72 del Giornale L'Adriatico" addressed to Prof. Bartolomeo Soster in Padova, with BOLOGNA cds (April 2, 1860) in black at left. File folds well away from the superb adhesive, a rare single usage. Signed E. Diena, A. Diena Sassone = € 3'250.

1851: Lithographed 5 c. black, a horizontal pair and 40 c. rose, margins touched to large, used on 1853 cover to Paris tied by diamond dots obliterator, with fine "THONON" despatch cds (April 28) at right. "P.D." in red and "SARD. / FURNEX" transit cds in red (April 29) with reverse showing Lyon transit and Paris arrival cds (May 1). A rare and most impressive Savoy franking. Signed Oliva, A. Toscana 1851/52: 1 q. black on greyish, a used example with just shaved to good margins, used on 28 March 1855 front page of "Manifesto Giornaliero" Newspaper, tied by barred handstamp in rd brown. The album page size document with some aging on the folds but opens well for display, a rare and attractive single usage. Signed E. Asinelli, A. Diena Sassone = € 7'500.
