1939/1940 "WWII Internment of Polish Servicemen in Lithuania": Specialized exhibition collection of 27 covers, postcards and letters, well written up on 16 pages, depicting the difficult situation and mail of the about 13,000 Polish servicemen fled to Lithuania in September 1939 and interned there, with covers and postcards sent to Germany, England, inland, or to Poland (German resp. Soviet occupied), with a lot of fascinating details and rare items as censor handstamp Königsberg in VIOLET on Lithuanian postal stationery card (one of only two recorded), the only recorded St. Andrew's cross "VI / Int / stovykl" handstamp on postcard, and others, find mail from Camp to Camp, a range of various types of Red Cross mail, special postal routes, postal rates, and many more. An extraordinary and important collection.
