Postal Stationery 1890: South Australia Stamp Design Competition, an Essay for proposed postal stationery card, with postcard sized artwork for a 2 d. card with magnificent ornamental border and the 2 d. 'stamp' being superbly designed (and used on the issued 1 d. card) and hand-drawn and painted in India ink on art paper and recessed in a card (180 x 133 mm.). Endorsed with entrant's pseudonym "Chimborazo" at base in ink. The Design competition attracted 56 entrants who submitted over 100 designs.
