1873/87: 2 s. blue on greenish, 1880/84 1 d. green and 4 d. rose-carmine (2, one on reverse used as seal), perf. 12½, used on 1882 registered cover to Vienna, Austria endorsed "per S.S. Rohilla via Brindisi", tied by "1" obliterators and by framed "R" in violet and "REGISTERED / MELBOURNE" datestamp (Oct 11). Reverse with Vienna arrival (Nov 24). Carried by "Rohilla" to Colombo, "Siam" to Suez where disinfected with central chicel slit against the Cholera Outbreak and thence on the "Poonah" to Brindisi (Nov 21). Listed in the Ben Palmer census on page 37. A most attractive and scarce cover.rn
