Egyptian Campaign 1882: 1 d. pink postal stationery envelope up-rated with 1881 1 d. lilac and 1880 ½ d. green for Officer's rate of 2½ d., mailed to Newport, tied by "BRITISH ARMY POST OFFICE / EGYPT" circular datestamps (Sept 29) in black. Re-addressed upon arrival (Oct 9) to Brecon. Sold together with off cover 1 d. lilac and 1883 2½ d. lilac similarly cancelled. Some aging around perforations on the but a remarkable usage - the sole 1 d. pink usage from this Campaign recorded.
