1858 (Nov 16): Entire letter from Port Louis to Bordeaux endorsed "par Hathie Humble", with circular MAURITIUS / POST OFFICE despatch cds in black, mailed via the Cape of Good Hope and struck with fine if overstruck "COVE / SHIP LETTER" in blue-green (Robertsoon S2) and "8" pence charge for incoming ship rate in same ink (Cove cds verso, Feb 2. 1859). Two strikes of "COLONIES / &c. ART. 13" applied in London in red and thence via Boulogne to Bordeaux (Feb 8) where charged '20' décimes due in manuscript.
