Puebla 1868: 25 c. blue on pink, thick figures, imperforate, overprinted '4-71' and 'Puebla' in black, the Postal Forgery, horizontal pair used on 10 August 1871 entire letter from the Mendoza Cortina correspondence to Madrid, Spain endorsed "via de la Habana", tied by "FRANCO / MEXICO" cds in black. Reverse with Madrid arrival (Sept 11) and charged "8R" due upon delivery. An exceptional usage of the Postal Forgery to an overseas address, a very rare and attractive franking.
