lot # 2188 - europe France
1870, Ballon Monté, Le Neptune, first flight cover, 30 c. bistre, tied by Paris "1" in dotted star cancel, sent to Geneva, with Paris datestamp alongside 19 September 1870, boxed "PD" in red also, business cachet in blue, to reverse an arrival in black dated 8 October 1870, horizontal filing crease centrally, slight soiling, otherwise a fine example of this scarce inaugural flight.
INFO: The letter arrived Geneva Oct. 8th and is presumably transported by Balloon «Le Célèste».
