1943: 'Obelisk', full set, unused, original gum, with handstamped surcharge in Amharic and English at top, at center the '3/11' and '1943' and each value surcharge increased by 5 cents, the 12 c. and 20 c. have uniform diagonal creases, otherwise fine, rare; one of 40 issued which were intended for use as gifts for VIPS from H.I.M. Haile Selassie I, presented during the inauguration ceremony of the new Obelisk erected as a monument to the Ethiopian patriots who fell during the Italian occupation of Ethiopia; signed AS Bolaffi in margins.
