60 reis grey black, Intermediate Impression, a superb horizontal pair used on May 31, 1844 entire letter from Ceará to Rio de Janeiro, pre-paying the Maritime rate, cancelled in manuscript on each stamp with "1 de Junho 1844" and by framed "CEARA" handstamps (Ayres fig. 1274) in black. Illustrated in Juchert "Bull's Eyes on Covers" on page 75, this being the sole recorded Bull's Eye cover from Ceará and thus unique. An exceptional and beautiful cover that displays well. Cert.
