Verticais 1850: 180 r. black and 1854 10 r. blue, ample to large margins, used on 1861 cover from Bahia to Buenos Aires, Argentina tied by oval framed "CORREIO DA BAHIA / BRASIL" handstamps in black (Ayres fig.1226) with large circular "CORREIO DA BAHIA" despatch cds (July 15) alongside. Carried by French Steamer "Saintonge" with docketing of both this and arrival (Aug 1) inside. A scarce and attractive franking.
