lot # 225 - Chile
1857/65: Santiago P.O. printings, 10 c. blue (shades), the album pages with used single examples (30), horizontal pairs (4) and a horizontal strip of three, showing the dramatic colour shade differences and both the original sharp impressions and the later poor quality impressions, with one single example cancelled by blue target handstamp, the balance in black (but for a late impression with part CURICO handstamp); one pair showing an almost suffused colour and another very similar to the original Perkins Bacon shade of 1853. A charming group (35 items).
