Stampless Postal History, 1843 (October 12): folded letter to Lyon, France, postmarked with Quebec double split-ring and clear "PAID AT QUEBEC" crown circle, endorsed “per Halifax & Liverpool” in manuscript, with PAID OC 10 tombstone transit and Boulogne entry mark on front (1 Nov), Paris and Lyon c.d.s. backstamps, the latter partially cut out from opening of letter, a fine and scarce example of this crown circle on a letter to France.
