Recess by Perkins Bacon 1861: 2 d. blue, wmk. Swan sideways, intermediate perf. 7½ to 14, a single example used on local 1865 cover to Guildford tied by Bowra circle and bars numeral "20" obliterator with corresponding "CHAMPION BAY / WESTERN AUSTRALIA" cds at left (Nov 17). Transit was by sea from Champion Bay (now Geraldton) as indicated by the "Freemantle" transit cds (Nov 27) on reverse. A fine and most attractive cover.
