1857: 4 d. rose, defect top and top right side, used on cover with 1862 4 d. red, plate 3, without hair lines, from London to Amsterdam, Netherlands, dated 6 February 1864, tied by London E.C. '90' duplex in black, with 'England / Franco' itallic two-line handstamp in black alongside. To reverse a circular arrival datestamp in red (unclear). Stained and has a horizontal filing crease centrally well clear of adhesives. The 8 d. rate up to 1 oz. Rare example; one of four mixed 4 d./4 d. combination franking covers known. A Gold Standard cover.
