1902/49: Accumulation in one album of mainly unused material from Nauru, Gilbert Island, Aitutaki, Penrhyn, Niue and Pitcairn Islands. A number of sets, select items and varieties the quality of which is predominately fine to very fine, value being within the Nauru and Gilbert Islands, noted GB Overprinted 1916/23 set of eleven values unused to 1 s. including ½ d. with "Double Overprint, One Albino" variety, 1923 13½ mm. overprint set of four used and ½ d. & 2 d. unused, De La Rue Seahorses 2 s. 6 d. yellow-brown & brown, 5 s. bright carmine, Bradbury Wilkinson Seahorse 2 s. 6 d. chocolate-brown and in pale brown all unused (Gi 1,13-16,20-22,24-25) also De La Rue Seahorse 2 s. 6 d. deep (sepia)-brown unused very fine but for small grease mark but scarce, Gilbert Island 1935 Silver Jubilee 1 s. slate & purple two unused singles one with variety "Flagstaff on Right-Hand Turret" and the other "Double Flagstaff" (Gi 39d&e) also 1912/24 £ 1 purple & black on red Die II unused fresh large part og. (Gi 24), 1922/27 unique ½ d. green strip of three overprinted 'SPECIMEN' in black (Type D12) and 1 d. violet strip of three 'SPECIMEN' in black (Type D16) tied to large piece part circular 'POSTES ET TELEGRAPHES / MADAGASCAR / COLLECTION DE BERNE' cachet applied in red upon receipt from the U.P.U. (Gi 27s-28s). An interesting and varied lot Gi = £ 7'500+.
