1914 (Sept 3): GRI 3 d. on 25 pf. black & red on yellow, the famous unused example, variety "Comma after "I" in G.R.I.", fresh and very fine, unused without gum. Note: This stamp lost its gum on the night of September 24, 1940, when the vault at Chancery Lane Safe Deposit, where the Marquess's valuable stamp collection was stored, was flooded during a German air raid.
