Austrian Shipmail, Mailing Facilities on Board of Ships, Lake of Garda 1851: Local lettersheet written in Lazise on the eastern shore of the Lago di Garda, despatched there at the vessel and directed to Trento, bearing 3 kr. light red type Ib on handmade paper, a fine and fresh adhesive with good to large margins all round, tied by perfect ornate framed "Imp = Reg = Vapori" shipmail handstamp ('Muschelstempel') in black (Tchilinghirian fig. 353 / Müller 3421a). Reverse with RIVA transit cds of Riva del Garda at the northern shore of the lake as well as "TRIENT 11 / 11" arrival cds. Some filing folds well away from the adhesive and its superb and desirable Shipmail cancellation, in addition a usage of a kreuzer adhesive in Venetia. Cert. Ferchenbauer (2009).
