British Protectorate 1815-1864 1831 (Jan 19): Incoming unpaid entire letter from Paris to Corfu endorsed via Naples, struck with Paris cds (Jan 21) in blue and, on arrival by scarce Small Coat of Arms "OFFICIO DELLA POSTA GENERALE / CORFU" cachet in black. Reverse with Naples transit in red (Feb 3) and hooded "CORFU" arrival (Feb 21) in black, with notation of 3 s. 3¼d. to pay in red ink. File crack but a scarce entire that displays well.
Note: The Small Coat of Arms cachet was only in use between 1829 and 1833, concurrent with the Large Coat of Arms cachet (known between 1825 and 1841).
