Early Mail from Smirna 1656 (Nov 22): Entire letter from Smirna to London (a rare destination at this early date), being a 'copy letter' with two letters written to the Cornish merchant Thomas Pengelly, one dated 13th January 1656 and the other written on 20th November, as insurance against non-delivery of the previous letters. Endorsed "p. Don.a" at lower left and without further markings.
