Palestine Forerunners Turkish Post - "Jerusalem 3", all Arabic SUPERB STRIKES postmarks (Collins type PM33) dated 22.10.1917 tied to 20 Para x1 & 5 Para x2 Turkish stamps, paying the 20 Para p/c rate plus 10 Para war tax on card mailed to the known Zionist David Abulafia (who serve in the Turkish military that time) in the Town of Hebron (Halil Ul Rahman). Jerusalem Turkish military censor Collins type CM5 on front. Long French written message on back, "Jerusalem 3" all Arabic postmark known to be used for a very short time between October 15 1917 to November 17 1917 (reference Collins catalog), Est. total of 10 covers/Postcards known. This card at top 3 with Excellent strike postmarks !!! VF & very rare historical exhibit quility postcard. Information about David Abolafia - CV - Abolafia (1893-1953) was born to Portona to Ben Habib (Szaatiya bin Habib, author of the book Ein Yaakov) and Elihu Abolafia in Gallipoli, the Ottoman Empire. He studied at Alliance School and in government high school, and then studied law at the University of Istanbul and was accredited to law. During his studies he was chairman of the Jewish Students Association and later continued to act as a member of the Zionist Federation in Turkey and as vice chairman of the Association for Grace Rehabilitation in Istanbul. In World War I he served as an officer in the Ottoman Empire in Palestine, and served one-third, among others under the command of Ismet Pasha. For his military service, he was awarded war medals from Turkey and Austria and the Iron Cross from Germany. In 1921 he went again to Palestine and was in law. In February 1932 he was elected to the Jerusalem Community Committee on the resident’s list. His public activity has coined many occupations over the years, serving as a member of the community security committee, Vice President of the Jewish community in Jerusalem and from 1947 to 1938 President of the Spanish Committee in the city. Abulafia was elected by the list of supporters of Jabotinsky from the members of the Eastern Testimony to the third Assembly, and was elected to the management of the National Committee. In 1938 he took part in the negotiations to prevent the expulsion of Jews from the Turkish citizens of the island of Rhodes by the Italian rule. Besides this, the president of the Mesgav Hospital Management was Mesgav Ledch, a member of the Belilius Estate Council, the Spanish World Union and the President of the Freemasonry Bureau Jerusalem. His political activity continued as a member of the city council in Jerusalem (from 1939). In the War of Independence, the Municipal Situation Committee was a member of the boycotts. He then headed the Municipal Finance Committee and headed the Jerusalem District Court for Renting Apartments and Businesses. Abolafia died on January 4, 1953 and was buried on the rest mountain.
