lot # 8553 - bremen stamps
1867, 5 Grote on matt grey-brown, horizontal pair in type combination I-II, perforated as per issue, with very clear and centrally applied small boxed cancel "BREMEN 24 8" tied to small piece addressed to New York and with red "PAID.10" next to it. The pair is no longer originally attached and in the transparent view the left stamp (postage stamp) appears somewhat light. Despite the imperfections, a scarce and of delightful appearance on piece.
