1905, 21 June, USA, Railway accident at Mentor, Ohio, two entires: heavily burnt return receipt; and cover from Chigago, Ill., 21.6.1905 to Hopkinton, NH with accompanying label "From L.S.&M.S. Tr 26 /wrecked at Mentor, O / June 21, 1905". In addition a letter of Concord P.O. to addressee. The accident took place about 9.20 p.m., the train no. 26 with engine no. 4686 and five cars (thereof four sleeping cars) was travelling at full speed, 60-70 mph, when it hit an open switch at Mentor station and derailed. It was telescoped, and coals from the the fire box immediatelly ignited the baggage/buffet car behind the engine.
