Austrian Post Office 1869: Turkey Postage Due 1 pi. yellow-brown & red-brown, perf. 5-11, used on 1870 cover to Venice paying the internal rate from Scutari cancelled by superb thimble datestamp (Sept 17) in blue-black, franked by Austrian Levant 1867 5 s. red and 10 s. blue (2) tied by "ANTIVARI" datestamps (Sept 20) in brown (Tchilinghirian fig. 467) for onward transmission. Venice arrival cds (Sept 26) on reverse. The address re-written and slight peripheral aging on Levant adhesives but a scarce anad attractive combination usage. Cert. A. Diena (1974).
