1822 (March 23): Entire letter from Port Louis to Lt. Col. Robinson, H. M. 24th Regt. at Nagpur on the Deccan, Bengal; endorsed "per ship Ernest" at lower left, struck with "PORT LOUIS / UNPAID" in black (Proud UP4). Framed "Post Not Paid" in black applied at Madras with manuscript "Double B(earin)g. 1 r. 10 annas" due to pay and thence to Calcutta with GPO backstamp in red (May 27) and thence overland to Nagpur. Somewhat cross-written but a scarce entire.
