Lithographed by Bradbury Wilkinson 1890/94: Bradbury Wilkinson Salesman's Sample stamps, Imperforate examples perforated "SPECIMEN" (Samuel type B1) with ½ a. printed in dark green, 2 a. in deep brown, 2 a. in orange and 4 a. in carmine (unissued colours although the 2 a. is close to the issued colour), unused without gum. These Proofs were adhered into Salesman's sample books as demonstrations of Bradbury Wilkinson's technique and expertise. Scarce and most attractive.rnNote: Just five ½ a. Sample Proofs have been recorded, eight 2 a. in various colours are known and the 4 a. here is previously unrecorded.
