Napoleonic Occupation 1799 (Feb 15): Letter (27 Pluviose, An 7) from General Menou in HQ at Rosette on printed headed paper "Commandant les Provinces d'Alexandrie, Rosette et Bahiré", somewhat yellowed from disinfection and slitted against cholera, addressed to General Dugua with interesting content "Les Anglais ont jetté avant hier 210 bombes sur Alexandrie...". Signed on reverse by Menou with postscript in his own hand below. Rare.
