1915 (7. Jan.): 5 Pf green two examples in vertical pair together with 10 Pf. carmine LOME overprint and 10c on 5 Pf. green vertical strip of three with different types PORTO-NOVO overprint, as 50c franking on registered letter addressed the Captain Renard at Dakar in the Senegal. The sender is the commanding officer DAHOMEY and dependencies who has applied his seal to close the letter. The stamps are tied except for the 10 Pf carmine by three strikes of the blue ANECHO. Transit marks GRANND-POPO (8. Jan.) and COUTONOU (9. Jan.) are on the reverse. One of the earliest uses of the "Boxing Day find" issue. A very rare letter.
