Foreign Post Offices in Ecuador 1873: French Consular Mail 80 c. Ceres Type, rose on pinkish paper, used with an octagonal French paquebot cancel 'GUAYAQUIL 24 SEPT. 73'. It has a couple of small thins but features a scarce cancel. According to a Moorhouse certificate, it is genuine and documents a short-lived Pacific coast service that operated from April 1872 to February 1874. This cancel is listed in Harris's list, rated 9 points on the scarcity index.
