1840: 1 d. black, plate 1b, lettered BJ, three large margins, used on cover from Kirkaldy, Scotland to Aberdour, dated 3 June 1841, tied by black Maltese Cross, with red three-line dispatch to reverse, redirected to Cheltenham, with an additional 1841 1 d. red, plate 8, lettered BC applied, four good margins all round, tied by black Maltese Cross, endorsed "Stamped at Aberdour". To the back a framed Aberdour datestamp (4 June 1841), a red Edinburgh transit cds of the same date and an arrival circular datestamp (5 June 1841) in black. A fine and rare combination. Less than 40 examples recorded, scarce in such fine condition. Cert. BPA (2010).
