1907 (Nov): Provisional "1D" on 5 s. salmon & green, handstamped at Georgetown, a used example, correctly franking a 1907 postcard (Sheddon Road, Georgetown) to Grand Turk, Turks Islands, tied by "George Town / Grand Cayman" cds (Nov 29) in black. 'Kingston / Jamaica' transit adjacent (Dec 7) and 'Turks Islands' arrival cds 10 Jan, 1908). The card is written by George Hirst, Cayman Islands Commissioner with a Christmas message for H.H. Hutchings who was to succeed Mr. Hirst in 1912 as Acting Commissioner. Superb and extremely rare with just two postcard usages recorded bearing this adhesive.
