1867: 4 d. carmine (Type B, 18 mm.), a used example with 1876 1 s. deep green on 1881 cover with original contents to London, closed tear on address panel, tied by segmented cork obliterators in black and the 4 d. by blue crayon registration marking. Oval framed "REGISTERED / ST. HELENA" in red with manuscript '5' inserted and circular datetsamp in black of despatch (Jan 22). Under ½ ounce rate of 1 s., registration fee 4 d., with manuscript '6d.' credit to GB in red crayon. London arrival cds on reverse (Feb 7). Despite the fault, a very rare and most attractive cover.
