French Post Office in Smirna 1871/75: France 15 c. buff, a single example and a vertical strip of three, used on 1872 cover from Smirna to Naples tied by 'Anchor' lozenge of dots with "LIGNE U / PA. FR. N No. 4" French Paquebot datestamp (July 5) alongside (Salles fig. 881). Carried on the Steamer "Tanais" with framed 'PD' in black and thence via Messina, Naples (July 9) and readdressed to Florence. Onew stamp with small scuff at top but a scarce and attractive cover.
