Auction # 2424 ARGENTINA: Special July auction

JOSÉ MARCÓ DEL PONT: Shoe box with fantastic lot (hundreds!!) of letters, cards, notes, invitations, price lists, PHILATELIC MAIL of clubs and stamp dealers from around the world, personal cards, spectacular invoices and receipts for purchases of various items, and much more to discover, from the fantastic archive of the great philatelist José Marcó del Pont. The dates of some of the papers that I checked are of 1880s and 1890s, I found very rare and interesting material, for example an invitation of the American Philatelic Association of the year 1893 to be their representative in Argentina, invitation to a commission for the purchase of battle ships (Adrogué, 1898), hand-written letter of G. Latour (who reprinted Argentine classics) commenting that he was looking for complete sheets of the stamps of 1892 Discovery of America, leaflet about a public sale in Paris of the personal effects of the Marcó del Pont family (for their bankruptcy, in 1896), 2 hand-written letters of Belisario Roldán (1898), etc. The quality is excellent, unique lot! We show individual photos of some of the items, the lot includes much more material!
